Colourtrend Interior Design Forum interview with Thelma Henry of Thelma Henry Interiors.
No matter what your budget may be when updating your bathroom, Thelma Henry of Thelma Henry Interiors shows us that the paint colour you choose is the key to solidifying your style. It’s about not only creating a personal retreat within your home, but creating a space to suit your style. “The mood of my bathroom set is, as you can see, Victorian with a contemporary twist. The mood is that of warmth and relaxation with a touch of opulence to it,” Thelma shares with us. The wall panelling added throughout her Colourtrend Interior Design Forum room set is perfectly highlighted in Colourtrend Historic Peacock Blue paint; a truly royal hue that brings a serene and sophisticated feeling to the space. Going with this shade of paint also works as an excellent backdrop behind the porcelain white fixtures and cast-iron accessories by allowing them to stand to attention.
Coupled with Vintage Silver paint on the upper area of the walls, the room feels larger than it is and creates the illusion of elongated walls. Complimenting a deep hue with a bright paint in this manner allows light to be reflected throughout the room while still adding character and depth. Beautifully balancing the dark panelling, Thelma introduced bright parquet floors and rich drapes which echo the luxurious style she was aiming for.
The careful details that accompany Themla’s palette create a classic bathroom design. Of all the rooms in our home, your bathroom is one of the most personal spaces, as Thelma explains, “It’s very luxurious. It’s somewhere you can go and relax and chill out at the end of an evening. It’s your time, your space.” Consider taking a page from Thelma’s book and create a relaxing retreat within your own home. Her bathroom is a perfect example of how something as simple as a colour palette can have such a dramatic effect on a space. Quite simply, colour is key.
