As an established artist and a successful interior designer, it’s safe to say that Regina Rogers Fallon knows a thing or two about paint. When it came to choosing a colour scheme for her Colourtrend Interior Design Forum room set, Regina embraced an invigorating palette by pairing the complementary colours of blue and orange. Once the paint colours were chosen, the fabrics and finishes for the room followed suit.
To create a rich design, Regina suggests surrounding yourself with luxurious fabrics that coordinate with your paint colours. Regina did just this by layering variations of her palette as seen in her couch, vibrant cushions, rug and roman blind. “The mood I wanted to achieve was a sense of luxury. The luxurious fabrics, the deep pile rug and, of course, the rich colours,” explains Regina. Her opulent theme is even carried through and seen in the textured artwork throughout the space, created by the designer herself.
When it comes to paint colours, one of this year’s biggest trends is bold and brave blues. Being a fan of blue herself, Regina combined Petrol blue with Squeeze orange from Colourtrend’s Interior Collection in Colourtrend Interior Matt finish on the walls for ultimate impact. By combining two such vivid colours, Regina gave the space an energising feel. As we begin to approach the colder months, vibrant wall colours can bring warmth and light to the autumn and winter seasons. Uplifting colours such as these will brighten a room and help carry us cosily through the colder months.
